A pet animal policy has been created by the Noida administration. By January 31st, 2022, dog and cat owners must register their pets or pay a charge in compliance with new rules. If a dog or cat kept as a pet causes any harm, a fine of 10,000 will be imposed.
It is now required to sterilize and vaccinate pet dogs against rabies. If a breach occurs (as of March 1, 2023), a punishment of $2,000 per month may be imposed.
Recently in the city and surrounding neighborhoods, similar incidents of dog attacks on delivery personnel and young children have been reported. Individuals took to the streets in mid-October to protest the dog menace in the neighborhood after a puppy in Noida had his intestines brutally torn out and died at the hands of a dog.
