On the internet, a guy is being hailed as a “hero” for saving the life of a toddler who had fallen out of her fifth-floor apartment window. The event happened on Tuesday in Tongxiang, Zhejiang province, in eastern China.
The man can be seen in the footage talking on the phone and running toward a building with a woman. A short while later, he is seen dropping his phone to the ground and reaching out to save the girl who is falling. The child was saved by the man just before she was about to touch the pavement, as shown in the video.
Initially published on Weibo, and then afterward on several additional social media sites. Zhao Lijian, a spokesman for China’s foreign ministry, tweeted a video of the valiant rescue. The government official shared the little video with the caption, “Heroes among us.”
The sources state that the guy, Shen Dong, who is reported to be 31 years old, first heard a loud crash coming from the building before realizing that the two-year-old child had fallen on the building’s steel roofing from her apartment’s balcony. The youngster fell away from that point, but luckily the dad caught her before she reached the ground.
“To be completely honest, I cannot recall the specifics. I can’t recall if my arms ached in any way. A local newspaper, Qianjiang Evening News, quoted Shen as saying, “It was merely instinct to reach out to her.” “It’s a good thing I arrived on time. If not, I would feel utterly terrible,” he continued.
The video has had over 150.3 K views since it was released and counting.
