An Australian athlete set a Guinness World Record by performing 3,182 push-ups in one hour. To accomplish the very difficult task, Daniel Scali pushed himself to the limit. Mr. Scali set the record in April this year, performing 3,182 push-ups in an hour, more than a hundred more than the previous record of 3,054 established by fellow Australian Jarrad Young in 2021, according to GWR. It is noteworthy that he already holds another world record before this.
He has CRPS (complex regional pain syndrome), which began when he fractured his arm when he was 12 years old, according to the records agency. On Friday, GWR posted a video on its official YouTube account in which Mr. Scali tells his story. So far, the video has received over 88,000 views and 2000 likes. “In this video, Daniel Scali (Australia), the world’s longest plank record holder, takes on a new, equally strenuous challenge: the most push-ups in one hour!” The caption reads, “Watch the attempt and hear from the man himself.”
“It’s the brain delivering incorrect information to my arm, which is the damaged location, so, everything like light touch, motions, wind, or water will give me pain,” he explained in a GWR video about how CRPS has affected his life. Growing up was difficult for him because he couldn’t leave the house due to the persistent, incurable agony he had from CRPS. According to Guinness World Records, he had to be hospitalized for months at a time to have a local anesthetic applied to his left arm in order to reduce his pain.
