James Cipperly (born May 4, 1984) is an American professional wrestler best known for his ring moniker Orange Cassidy. He is presently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW). SBNation called him “the most popular wrestler in AEW” because of his professional wrestling attitude as an aloof, laidback slacker. He had previously performed for Chikara as part of the Colony stable under the name Fire Ant. He was a part of “The Gentlemen’s Club” faction on the independent circuit, alongside Chuck Taylor and Drew Gulak. Cassidy defeated Tracy Williams on December 31, 2018, to win his first Independent Wrestling TV title, however, he lost it to Kris Stadtlander the following May. Cassidy reclaimed the championship at Beyond Wrestling: Secret Show a month later. His second reign lasted until September when he was defeated by Erick Stevens.
Orange Cassidy often does wrestling moves with his hands in his front pockets, Sunglasses, Jean jacket, Beach Break, Heat of the Moment, Burning Down the House, Ants Go Marching, Burning Hammer (Inverted Death Valley Driver) is all he uses as his trademark. He had previously worked for the Chikara company as the luchador enmascarado (masked professional wrestler), Fire Ant, before signing with AEW. Fire Ant was a member of the Colony stable, which twice won the Campeonatos de Parejas and twice won Chikara’s annual King of Trios tournament. He also worked as a trainer at Chikara’s Wrestle Factory school and debuted as a part of The Gentleman’s Club group, with Chuck Taylor and Drew Gulak. From 2004 through 2019, he also competed on the independent circuit.
