Flygon is one of Pokemon GO’s most underappreciated Dragons. Unfortunately, Flygon lags behind the majority of Dragon-type Pokemon. Other Dragons are usually pseudo legendary, with gigantic attacks, and better stat distribution. Flygon may not be able to compete with the world’s Dragonites and Garchomps, but it can still hold its own in a fight. When it comes to making a quick decision, Flygon faces an interesting quandary.
Both are beneficial, but for distinct reasons. Despite being a touch slow, Dragon Tail, one of the finest Dragon-type moves, offers a high damage output (1.5 seconds). Mud Shot pales in contrast to Dragon Tail in terms of damage output, with a base power of 5 (3 in PvP). Mud Shot, on the other hand, prices 9 EPS.
Trainers will have to select whether they place higher importance on energy generation or damage. Mud Shot, on the other hand, is usually the best option. This is due to the fact that Dragon Claw, one of Flygon’s charge attacks, has a relatively low energy cost. Flygon can fire three Dragon Claws per match on average with Mud Shot.
In these cases, having a weaker, faster, but charging move like Dragon Claws is usually preferable to having a powerful fast move that doesn’t charge as much energy. On a Flygon that is being used to attack Raids, however, Dragon Tail will be favored. Trainers can’t go wrong with Earthquake, Earth Power, or Stone Edge for Flygon’s secondary charge move.
