Epic Games’ Next Free Game Might Be A Letdown; This Is Why

Epic Games next free game could be a disappointment for some players: Here's why

Last year, the Epic Games e-store grew at an exponential rate. Epic Games shop continued to grow in 2021, according to the company’s most recent annual report, with monthly active players reaching 62 million in December. According to Epic, over 194 million PC customers spent $840 million on the Epic Games Store last year, with only $300 million coming from third-party games.

The freebies, which totaled 765 million weekly free games claimed from 89 titles supplied via ECS in 2021, were a big hit. This year, Epic intends to keep the tradition going by offering new free games to gamers on a weekly basis. While the first free game, Relicta, was removed from the charts on January 27, Epic has released a new game, Mecha, a third-person action shooter.

Until February 3rd, Daemon x Machina will be available for free download. The game was initially launched exclusively for the Nintendo Switch, but it was eventually ported to the PC. This fast-paced mech action game is normally $60 USD, but mech fans can get it for free from Epic Games’ shop.

While Daemon x Machina is one of the most recent additions to Epic’s ‘free game programme,’ the next freebie will most likely disappoint some players. On February 3, ECS will make Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, a 2D platformer by Playtonic, a free title. The next free title will be a duplicate of what was offered in 2019, as the free claim service is offered from a rotating list.
