Steam, Valve’s PC game distribution platform, has been in the spotlight recently for a variety of reasons, including enabling (and then banning) paid modifications from Skyrim, as well as providing a bevy of new features like an in-game frame rate counter. Family Sharing is one of Steam’s many beneficial features. As the name implies, this function allows you to share your Steam game collection with friends and family.
To do so, you’ll need access to the computer on which your friends and/or family members play, as well as your Steam account credentials (username and password). After that, it’s a rather simple procedure.
1. Steam Guard should be enabled.
Go to the Steam settings menu on your own PC. Go to Account and choose it. Select Manage my account with Steam Guard protection from the drop-down menu.
2. Approve the use of the second computer.
Log in using your Steam account on your friend’s (or family member’s) PC. Go to the settings menu and choose Family. Select Authorize this machine from the drop-down menu.
3. Begin sharing.
Log out of your Steam account on the same PC after authorizing it. Allow your friend or family member to access their own account today. They may now access your Steam library and download and install games.
You may provide access to your Steam gaming library to up to 5 users and 10 machines.
You cannot play multiple games at the same time. You can’t play at the same time if someone else is utilizing your library’s games. This implies that if someone else is playing Counter-Strike from your library, you won’t be able to play Team Fortress 2.
