Gaming Essentials Which Are Overrated According To Gamers

Check out the most overrated Games

We have already written about some of our favorite video games, the ones you usually turn to when you want to play something worthwhile. With that in mind, we here at Goliath are looking at the most overrated video games of all time and letting our readers in on why we just don’t like the titles we’ve gone and listed below. Most of the time, when we choose to fall back on classic video games, it’s because we’ve recently been let down by something else we’ve chosen to invest our time in.

We have no idea why there is such a big deal about God of War, a third-person action-adventure game that lets players take control of Kratos, a Spartan warrior who performs divine tasks, as he sets out to find Pandora’s Box and prevent Ares (The God of War) from capturing Athens. Greek mythology serves as the basis for the game, but it never quite met our expectations for a nuanced story and engaging gameplay; instead, God of War is happy to stake its reputation on frustrating button-mashing mechanics and crude or sexually explicit dialogue and plot lines. Despite our best efforts to the contrary, we’ve just never been on board.

The Call of Duty series has a long history and has had both high points (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Black Ops are both excellent) and low points (Call of Duty: Ghosts, ugh). There are many different Call of Duty games that we could’ve included on this list. For a number of reasons, most crucially because it undoes much of what Call of Duty: Modern Warfare had accomplished when it was first released, we’ve picked Call of Duty: World at War to stand in for the overrated in the Call of Duty series. World at War was criticized for being excessively gory to the point where it distracted from the game mechanics and for making extensive use of downloadable content that was released at a high cost to the player. World at War returns the first-person shooter franchise to the Second World War roots for which the series was originally known (a practice which must end in the very near future, as paying for incomplete games is shameful on the part of the producer).
