Few games compare to Rocket League, the smash hit in competitive gaming from Psyonix. When it comes down to it, it’s a bit of a mystery for fans. On the one hand, the notion of soccer and racing is presented in the game, which is straightforward yet incredibly engaging. Its status as an esports mainstay, though, serves as a reminder of how difficult it is to master.
Rocket World has continued to be in a league of its own when it comes to these types of insanely enjoyable, chaotic multiplayer romps, primarily because the game invented a brand-new genre. But in reality, there are a ton of entertaining soccer games, racing, and other crazy multiplayer games that mimic Rocket League in some way, and more are being developed every day.
1. Forza Horizon 5 (Xbox One/Series X)
With its 2021 release for Microsoft devices, the popular sandbox racing game from Playground Games is back and better than ever. With a fresh set of difficult obstacles dispersed around the rugged Mexican landscape, Forza Horizon 5 capitalizes on the feeling of speed and chaos. Along with the regular seasons, the distinct weather patterns and environmental variations that rely on the biome add to the thrill.
2. Wreckfest (Multiplatform)
Wreckfest, which grabs the reins and continues to run with the frantic pace of that game while giving racers its own touch, is in some ways a spiritual successor to the smash demolition derby hit FlatOut. The gameplay blends semi-nuanced simulation elements with the arcade devastation one may anticipate from Burnout.
3. Knockout City (Multiplatform)
With Knockout City, Velan Studios draws inspiration from another head-to-head classic: dodgeball. Rocket League relies on its entertaining soccer-based action. While engaged in a dodgeball fight with opponents brandishing balls, players will dip, dive, duck, and dodge their way through numerous sci-fi-themed venues.
4. Supraball (PC)
This multiplayer romp has a rich history, despite the fact that it is still a lesser-known game. This SupraGames game is the updated version of Deathball, which itself was derived from a modification for Unreal Tournament 2003.
5. Heavy Metal Machines (PC)
Sports and competitive games have become more and more popular as a result of the growth of internet gaming. With successes like League of Legends, though, MOBA has also experienced growth. Given the fact that many of these games are free to play, it is amazing that they frequently show signs of being highly addictive. This is the case with Heavy Metal Machines, a PC multiplayer game powered by Unity, by Hoplon Infotainment.
