Many strange and amazing things have been brought to us thanks to the internet, including macaroni chips, the best method to hang your towel after a shower, and how to do your makeup like Kang Sae-book from Squid Game. The app’s fashion tips, for example, range from doubling the life of your cardigans to turning your bikini bottoms into a stylish bikini top. But we’ve recently become interested in the surprisingly sophisticated ways you can dress a normal ‘old leather belt, from avoiding the need to poke fresh belt holes to imitating a cropped sweater with one. The following are three of the most fashionable belt hacks.
1. Hip belt as a waist belt
Pull your belt tight across your waist via the buckle. Pull your belt into the other side of the frame or strap by pressing the buckle prong down. (The prong should be held in place by the belt without the need for a belt hole.) Wrap the end under the belt and draw it back down through the new loop you’ve produced to neatly knot up any leftover material.
2. Hair tie
Insert a hair tie near the end of your belt underneath your belt. Hook the top loop of the hair tie over the belt end, then the lower loop of the hair tie around the belt end, and so on.
3. Crop top fakeout
Choose a slim belt in a colour that matches your top, if possible. Over your top, fasten the belt around your waist. Pull your top up carefully, leaving one to two inches of fabric beneath the belt. Fix your top so that it folds down to conceal the belt, giving the appearance of a cropped length. As per Purewow.
