Mutton kheema is among the simplest meal that you can prepare at your home for a Sunday meal. This amazing dish is most preferred by non-vegetarian, especially for breakfast with pav and with meals. The masalas we used are simple and can be found in our day to day kitchen. It can be served along with some hot garlic naan and brain raita as well as a salad by the side to enjoy your meal.
Mutton Keema is a very popular dish in North India and is loved and cherished by all non-vegetarians. This dish is made with minced mutton and spice powders with all aroma and flavour.
In Maharashtra, this Mutton Keema is enjoyed with pav. You can also serve it with Phulkas or Biryani and enjoy the delicacies.
INGREDIENTS:
2 cup Minced Mutton,
Required Sunflower Oil, 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera),
2 Bay leaves (tej patta),
1 teaspoon Whole Black Peppercorns
5 Cardamom (Elaichi) Pods/Seeds
3 finely chopped Onion,
2 tablespoons Ginger Garlic Paste,
2 finely chopped Green Chillies,
3 finely chopped Tomatoes,
1-1/2 teaspoon Coriander Powder (Dhania),
1 tablespoon Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder,
1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder (Jeera)
Salt,
1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder,
chopped mint Leaves (Pudina),
PROCEDURE TO MAKE MUTTON KHEEMA.
In a wide pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds, bay leaves, peppercorns and cardamoms.
Add the chopped onions after few seconds and saute them till they turn brown.
Add garlic and ginger paste, green chillies, tomato puree and mix everything well and saute.
Allow it to cook for about 5 minutes on medium flame. Once it is done, add coriander powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder and salt.
Cook for about 5-8 minutes on low flame. After 5-8 minutes, add the minced mutton and saute it for about 2-3 minutes. Add required water and continue cooking till it gets dry.
Once the mutton is cooked, switch off the flame and add extra garam masala for flavour and aroma. Mix well and garnish it with mint leaves.
In Maharashtra, this Mutton Keema is served with pav, preferably hard pav, for breakfast. You can also serve it with Phulkas or Pakki Mutton Biryani or simple jeera rice
