I’m sharing my 15-minute cheese garlic bread recipe for people in need of a quick meal or brunch. You can also prepare this cheesy garlic bread for lunch or dinner and serve it with any soup. These can also be served as an appetizer during a gathering or party.

You may use any bread and cheese you choose. I used brown bread and a combination of processed and cheddar cheese. Mozzarella cheese can also be used. Again, add your favorite herbs or spices. Serve the cheesy garlic bread with tomato ketchup or chilli sauce on the side.

The dish is baked in the oven. However, it may also be prepared on a tawa/skillet. Use a tawa with a thick bottom. In the notes area of the recipe card below, I described how to make cheese garlic bread on the stovetop. Check out this post about – Garlic bread toast on pan/tawa.

Making Cheese Garlic Bread

1. Before you start, preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius/392 degrees Fahrenheit. slice the loaf of bread into 0.75-inch-wide slices

2. Now, cut each piece in half.

3. In a mixing dish, combine 2 tablespoons of softened butter (butter at room temperature). I made use of salted butter (Amul butter). If using unsalted butter, season with salt.

4. Directly into the butter, grate or mince 3 to 4 medium garlic cloves. Garlic chives can be used in place of garlic. You may also smash the garlic in a mortar and pestle before adding it to the butter.

5. Combine the grated garlic and the butter well.

6. Finely grate 100 g cheddar or mozzarella cheese. Approximately 12 cup of grated cheese

7. Now, evenly distribute the garlic butter on all of the slices.

8. Generously sprinkle with the cheese.

9. Garnish with your preferred herb or spice. You can season with oregano, basil, thyme, red chilli flakes, black pepper, and other herbs and spices. If you have Italian seasoning on hand, you may substitute it.

10. Arrange the bread pieces on a baking sheet.

11. Place the baking tray on the top rack of your oven, with both the top and bottom heating elements turned on. Keep the baking tray on the glass turntable if using a microwave oven in convection mode.

12. Bake for 5 to 6 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius/392 degrees Fahrenheit, or until the edges become a light brown, the sides crisp, and the cheese melts. These slices do not require toasting.

Serve these cheesy garlic bread warm with tomato ketchup as an appetizer or snack.
