Gajar ka halwa is a popular favorite among every Indian household that is made for every happy occasion celebrated in the house. There has to be a gajar ka halwa if you are celebrating even the tiniest of things in an Indian household.
We have a recipe that will elevate your gajar ka halwa.
Ingredients
6-7 long fresh juicy carrots
4 cups of full-fat milk
4 tablespoons of desi ghee
1 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon cardamom powder
1 cup mixture of cashews, almonds, and golden raisins
Step 1
Clean and peel your carrots and grate them well. Take a big utensil or a Kadai and put your carrots along with your milk on medium flames and keep mixing it.
Step 2
Keep mixing the mixture until the milk is boiled and reduced and the carrot seems to be cooked a little. Then add your sugar and keep stirring this well.
Step 3
Once this combination is also reduced and the carrot seems to be cooked really well, add your cardamom powder and keep stirring it. Make sure you keep storing this mixture time and again as it ensures that your carrot is completely cooked.
Step 4
Once this mixture has reduced even more and comes to a pasty consistency, add all your dry fruits, mix well in the mixture and take it for another 2 minutes until the dry fruit soaks in some of the liquid and changes a bit of its color.
Your gajar ka halwa is all ready to be served. Hope you enjoy it.
