Here are simple steps to bake a delicious potato pie. Its ingredient is as follows. Potato, onion, olive oil, cumin seeds, garlic cloves, red chilli, ginger, garam masala, dried chilli flakes, lemon juice, coriander, butter and poppy seeds.
Put the sliced potato in a large saucepan having cold salted water. Boil the content for about eight minutes till it gets tendered. Fry onion in the frypan till it gets soft. Add the cumin seeds for one minute and then stir in ginger, garlic, chilli and remaining spices. Cook for few minutes and then turn off the and stir into potatoes with the peas, lemon and coriander.
Heat the oven. Halve the filo sheets and use two-third of them, overlapping, to line a 22 cms loose-bottomed cake tin. Lay each sheet, keep brushing melted butter and keep the rest covered with a clean towel. Put filling and keep pressing it down lightly. Cover with remaining filling and fold its sides and scrunch the pastry sheet to the edges of it.
Once all done, poke several slits in the top of the pastry and brush with more butter. Sprinkle with poppy seeds and bake for 40 to 45 minutes until it becomes golden brown. Serve hot or at room temperature with lemon and maybe some dip.
