Does rice always need to be part of the main course? Not necessarily, rice is everywhere nowadays, in desserts, starters, main course, snacks, and many other foods. Rice is a staple food and is widely consumed all over India. It is used everywhere including anything crunchy to sweet.
Here is an amazingly tasty recipe especially for this winter. It’s the rice Samosas!!
Rice samosas are basically made from plain dough that is filled in with a spicy oriental flavored rice filling. You will definitely love this crispy on the outside and soft and spicy on the inside recipe! So let’s check it out!
The preparation time is 10 minutes, and the cooking time is about 20 minutes, serves 7-8 Samosas.
The required ingredients are;
For the spicy samosa dough:
3/4 cups of plain all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon melted ghee or butter, Salt to taste
For the spicy samosa filling:
1 cup cooked rice, 1/2 tablespoon butter,1/4 cup chopped spring onion, 2 & 1/2 tablespoon schezwan sauce, salt to taste, and oil for frying.
Method:
Knead the dough with all the ingredients using water. Cover it and keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.
Prepare the filling by sauteing spring onion in oil and add rice and Schezwan sauce. Cook it on a medium flame for 1-2 minutes and divide it into 8 portions and keep aside.
Now knead the dough again for few secs and divide the dough into 8 equal portions. shape the dough into triangles, put some filling in the center, and join the ends. Once all done, keep it aside.
Now heat the oil, and get it ready for frying, once the oil is heated up, put samosas one by one.
Fry until they are golden brown and remove them on absorbent paper. Serve it hot with dip or sauce of your choice.
