Everybody likes to have something sweet after meals. When it comes to barfis there are various types of flavors available in it and they taste yummy and mouth-watering. Mawa is one such item made from milk and is used in various recipes. Mawa Barfi tastes extremely delicious and is a great way to end your meals on a sweet note. It is very straightforward to make Mawa Barfi at home itself and surprise your guests and family members.
Let’s look at the recipe:
Ingredients Required:
400 grams khoya/mawa, 200 grams sugar, ¼ tsp cardamom powder, 2 tbsp pistachios, chopped
Procedure:
The first step is to grate 400 grams of khoya/Mawa. You can make fresh Mawa at home or buy-in from local stores.
Now transfer the grated mawa into a large Kadai. And add 200 grams of sugar and start mixing. Keep cooking on low flame and keep stirring gently. Let the Mawa and sugar melt and incorporate.
Mash smooth making sure to get a uniform textured consistency. Continue to cook on low flame until the mixture thickens.
After 20 minutes, the mixture begins to separate and not touch the pan. Add ¼ tsp cardamom powder and mix.
Transfer the mixture into a ghee greased mold, make a reasonable layer. Top with 2 tbsp chopped pistachios and pat gently into it.
Set it for 3 hours or pop into the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Now put cuts and cut it gently avoiding breakage and cut pieces.
Lastly, serve khoya or Mawa barfi or store in an airtight container for a week in the refrigerator. And enjoy!!!
