Smoked Chicken Biryani: Try This Simple Recipe For A Tasty Restaurant Style Dinner

There are many alluring dishes which brings water into our mouth, but none of it can compete with the Biryani.

In this lockdown, we cannot go out to have some special dishes. Let us then make Biryani at home, adding a smokey flavour to it.

Ingredients: Chicken 1/2kg (cleaned, cut into pieces), Basmati rice 1/2kg (soaked in water for 15 minutes), 2-3 quartered tomatoes, 1 finely chopped onion, 1 mint bunch finely chopped, 6 whole green chillies, 8-10 dried plums (soaked in hot water), 2 tbsp Red chilli powder, 1/2 tbsp White cumin, 3-4 tbsp Lemon juice, ground garam masala 1 tbsp, food colour 1/4 tbsp, salt to taste, 1 cup Yoghurt, Ghee/oil 1 cup, a piece of coal.

Cooking Directions:

1) In a container, marinate chicken with 1 tbsp red chilli powder, lemon juice, garam masala, white cumin, yoghurt, food colour, ginger garlic paste, salt accordingly and 2 tbsp oil. Set it aside for an hour.

2) Later, cook the chicken till it gets tender, then heat coal of fire and place it on a slice of bread over the chicken, add some oil on the chicken and cover the container to give the smoke effect on the chicken.

3) Then boil the rice adding a pinch of salt and 1 tbsp lemon juice.

4) In a pan, take one cup oil and fry the onion in it, when it turns golden brown, add tomatoes, plums, green chillies, salt, 1 tbsp red chilli powder and mint.

5) Cook it on a low flame, when the masala gets mixed properly, add cooked chicken in it.

6) Cook it for few minutes and then add rice on top of it.

7) Simmer it for more 10 minutes covering the lid.

8) Serve the Smoked Chicken Biryani with raita.

Can serve 4 people.
