Ingredients required:
2 small oranges, 1 bottle of affordable wine- can use any red or white wine, ¼ cup brandy, 1 to 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey, 2 whole cinnamon sticks, 3-star anise, 4 whole cloves, spices are optional and you can use any spices of your choice
Optional garnishing:
Fresh whole cranberries, cinnamon sticks, additional orange rounded or halved.
Procedure and preparations;
To prepare the oranges, if using 2 small, slice one orange into rounds and slice the other in half. If using 1 large orange, slice it in half through the round middle, at that point cut one of the parts into adjusts. Spot the rounds into a medium weighty lined pot or little Dutch broiler. Press the juice from the leftover oranges into the pot.
Empty the wine into the pot, followed by the brandy. Add 1 tablespoon of the sugar for the time being. Add the cinnamon sticks, star anise, and cloves.
Heat the mixture over medium heat until steaming (about 5 minutes), and keep an eye on it. When you start seeing the littlest of air pockets at the surface, diminish the warmth to the most minimal of low.
Carefully taste, and add another tablespoon of sugar if it’s not sweet enough. If it’s not spicy enough to suit your preferences, keep cooking over extremely low warmth for 5 to 10 additional minutes.
Serve in mugs with your ideal toppings! In case you’re adding cranberries, you can add them to the pot to make it look extra happy.
Extras mulled wine can be kept in the fridge for several days, covered or stored in bottles or containers.
