In India different types of snacks are preferred by all. There are vegetarian as well as non vegetarian snacks varieties available, which you can enjoy. Samosa is all-time favourite snacks among all other snacks. It’s a street food, but in restaurants and hotels also it is served. The triangular shaped flaky pastry filled with spicy potato, or chicken or other vegetables filling is a popular snack not only in India but in several other countries. Every street corner you will find samosa and tea is served. Here we look at samosa recipe to relish the true fun of monsoon.

Potato samosa is most popular among all other types of samosa. Here is the recipe for potato samosa:

INGREDIENTS:

* Boiled and mashed potatoes.

* Ginger, chilles and hing.

* Green peas. Different spices, like cumin seed, fennel seeds, coriander seeds, cinnamon etc.

* Garam masala, coriander powder, red chilli powder and turmeric.

* Oil, Maida, salt, ajwain etc.

PROCEDURE:

* In a big bowl add flour, ajwain and salt and mix it well.

* Add oil and required water and rub it very well until you get stiff dough.

* Cover the dough with moist cloth and let it rest for 40 minutes.

* Meanwhile boil potatoes, pill the skin and mashed it and keep it aside.

* Heat two tablespoons of oil, heat it and add cumin seeds, coriander seeds and fennel seeds.

* Add chopped ginger, green chillies and hing.

* After about two minutes, add mashed potatoes, salt, and green peas.

* Add coriander powder, red chilli powder, and garam masala.

* Mix it well and take it out from flame.

* Knead the dough and make balls and roll it to about 7 inch.

* Cut it into two parts.

* By using one part pinch the pointed ends to make it a perfect cone shape.

* Fill it with potato fillings and seal it properly and dip fry your samosa. Fry it properly until it becomes light brown.

* Your hot potato or Alo samosa is ready to serve. You can have it with tomato sauce, green chutney and tea or coffee.
