Do You Have To Stare At The Screen All Day Long? Here Are Some Things To Help You With It!

Here are a few tips to protect your eyes from the everyday all-day screen time.

Regardless of whether at home, at the workplace, or even while traveling, it is practically difficult to encounter our existence without laptops, PC screens, and the TV! For corporate professionals, both their work and social life regularly include heavy screen time.

For this reason, people are suffering from ”digital eye strain” or ”computer vision syndrome” and experience side effects, for example, eye strain, cerebral pains, dry eyes and obscured vision.

If you invest lots of time looking at a screen and have begun to encounter any of these side effects, the primary thing to do is to decrease your screen time.

Here are few tips to follow:

1. Place the computer screen at least 20 inches away from you
Try to have a distance between 20-40 inches away from your computer to avoid strain on your eyes. Also, try to keep the computer screen below eye level.

2. Ensure that the screen is not too bright
Try to keep your screen brightness low. Once your screen is bright, you are exposed to more ”blue light”. This blue light can harm your vision and also create strain on your eyes. Reduce the screen brightness and also you can add a glare filter to your screen to avoid harm.

3. Use a separate pair of computer glasses if necessary
Try to have a separate pair of glasses to use for the screens altogether. You can add different types of glasses that will protect your eyes more and keep you away from eye strains.

4. Take a break and look away from your screen
Try having small breaks in between. Try to give your eyes rest. In that rest time, you can go take a stroll in the garden or at the window to let your eyes breathe fresh air.

5. Keep your eyes refreshed
When you stare a lot at the screens, you blink less, and therefore your eyes tend to feel dry. Try to splash your eyes with water to make your eyes refreshed.
