Have any of you tried juicing yet? You should give it a go if you haven’t already. It’s a delicious and enjoyable way to get a lot of healthy nutrients into a liquid delight that will make you feel amazing.
Many people mistakenly believe that juicing is a substitute for entire meals, but we disagree. Whole foods (and the fiber that comes with them) are an important element of a healthy diet, according to us. Fruit or vegetable juices (or smoothies) should not be used as a meal substitute.
We were scared by all the strange combinations out there when we first started juicing—we mean, even at the grocery store, there are bottles of juice with a million different components. Here are 2 1/2 strawberries, 2/3 of a mango, and 27 blueberries. Who keeps track of blueberries?!
To get you started, we have gathered 3 of our favorite basic juice recipes. All of these juice recipes call for common fruits and vegetables, and the majority of them include fewer than three components. They’re all organically sweetened with fruit, so you know they’ll be delicious! These are an excellent way to get started with juicing. Let’s get this party started!
1. If you want to incorporate more green juice into your diet, this is a good place to start.
Cucumbers and celery are both high in water content, making them ideal for juicing. Green apple also adds a lot of richness and fruitiness to the juice. This beverage is extremely hydrating and refreshing—ideal for the summer!
2. Do you enjoy the spiciness of ginger? Then this is the recipe for you. Carrots and apples provide a nice counterpoint to the spice of ginger.
3. In this vividly purple juice, the earthiness of beets is balanced out by sweet and delicious berries.
If the flavor of typical purple beets is too strong for you, consider golden beets, which are sweeter and milder in flavor.
