A mouth ulcer is the erosion of delicate tissue that lines inside of the mouth known as mucous membrane. There are several causes of mouth ulcers, but the most common cause is accidentally biting the inside of your cheek.
While the other causes are aphthous ulceration, certain medications, skin rashes in the mouth, viral, bacterial and fungal infections, chemicals, some systemic medical diseases and, rarely, malignancy.
In many cases, mouth ulcers are harmless and can resolve by themselves within 8-10 days without much need for any treatment.

1. Avoid Spicy Foods.
2. Drink plenty of fluids.
3. Keep your mouth clean.
4. Take a rinse of saltwater with baking soda.
5. Cover mouth ulcers with baking soda paste.
6. Apply ice to canker sores.
7. Place damp tea bags on your mouth ulcer.
8. Try natural remedies such as chamomile tea, echinacea, myrrh, and licorice root.
