1) Caffeinated drink:
It’s common knowledge to keep children away from drinks that have caffeine-like energy drinks and coffee. It is addictive, and it also causes headaches, insomnia, anxiety, faster heart rates, high blood pressure and can also affect your child’s metabolism which can cause some major health issues in the long run.
2) Aerated drinks:
These drinks are a concoction loaded with artificial colours, carbon dioxide for the fizz, and a lot of sugar. While children enjoy these fizzy drinks they can cause obesity, cardiovascular diseases, cavities, and sometimes even cancer. Carbonated drinks can also lead to osteoporosis from a young age as it leaches calcium from bones
3) Sugary Beverages:
This is especially not a healthy option for growing kids. These drinks are loaded with sugar to make them taste sweet and fresh. But these drinks lead to kids getting highly addictive sugar highs which could lead to them getting used to high sugary food all the time in turn leading to obesity.
4) Sports Drinks:
Anyone who isn’t into heavy athletics needs to stay away from sports drinks and protein shakes. While they provide instant energy and boost metabolism, it is not the right thing for a kid. Kids need nutrients not only for energy but also for the development of the system which they can get from fruits and vegetables.
Instead of these drinks, you could opt for healthy drinks like milk, shakes and smoothies, coconut water, fresh fruit, and vegetable juice.
