6 Ways To Blend Prints And Themes In Your Interior Decor, Take A Look

Check out these different ways that you can decorate your interiors by blending your prints and themes!

Getting the perfect interiors for your room can be quite a tricky task. Especially when you are fond of prints! You need to know the right combinations of shades, colors, shapes, and sizes to set a harmonic look to your home. There are quite a few patterns that your could mix and match without making your living space look cluttered! Check it out:

1) Combine different sizes:
You could mix up some large-sized patterns with some small ones. For example, you could add your stripes, chevron, or herringbone patterns as large-scale patterns, and then you could use a small pattern on a small scale like on your throw pillows or a rug.

2) Similar Colors:
Matching different patterns together can be quite daunting but it is easier to tone down the chaotic look simply by using patterns that are from the same. You could also just settle for similar patterns and add a variety to them by using the different patterns with colors that are from the same tonal family’s different colors.

3) Mix it up with simple and complex patterns:
You can take away the chaos of two patterns clashing by using an intricate pattern alongside a simple one. This creates a contrast and variation by taking anything away from the aesthetic of the living space.

4) Pick a couple of patterns:
Pick at a max of three to four patterns and stick with them throughout the designing process. Too much mixing can look like a mess.

5) Maintain a visual balance:
Mixing and matching different patterns can overwhelm a room. You can tone it down a bit by adding some solid colors to break up the shapes and lines. Don’t push your patterns to just one corner, balance it out all over the room.

6) Know what looks best together:
It’s important to know what goes well together. But also keep a lookout for which patterns to avoid putting together! Floral prints and ikats patterns go well together with strips. Or, animal prints look good with other animal prints and even graphic prints (but don’t add too many prints together). On the other hand, plaid and polka dots are a horrible combination. Add traditional prints with electric ones. The best way to know which pattern suits another is by trial and error!
