You do not need a special occasion to express your love for your children, such as a birthday or a holiday. Everyday gestures, such as a thoughtful note or a simple “I love you,” are effective ways to show your children how much you care and value them.
1. Write a love letter to your child.
Write out a few reasons why you adore your child and believe he is unique. This letter should be addressed to your child.
2. Take them by surprise.
One day, skip the afternoon activities and go on an adventure with your youngster. You can take her ice skating, to the beach, or just for a stroll around the park.
3. Tell them another story.
Even if you’re exhausted, say yes when your child requests another story. He’ll appreciate the extra attention.
4. Put a favorite photograph in a frame.
Print out a favorite photo of your child and write a statement on the back explaining why it is your favorite. Give her this snapshot to frame and display in her room.
5. Share your favorite memory of him with your child.
Share a happy memory you have of him with your child. It might be the first time you met, the story of his birth, or any other memorable occasion.
6. Increase the level of affection.
Give your child a dozen hugs, twenty-five times tell her you to love her, or a hundred kisses. Your child will enjoy the additional tenderness as well as the amount’s silliness.
7. Sing, dance, and laugh.
Put on your favorite “oldie” and demonstrate your moves to your child. Whatever tune you play, he will appreciate the time you spend together.
8. Lunchbox love.
Make a humorous poem or song lyrics that remind you of your child and tuck it into her lunchbox. Even if you are separated from your child, he or she will grin and feel cherished.
9. It’s okay to break the rules sometimes.
Allow your child to play with all of the toys in his room, run in the rain, and play in the mud. Enjoy the lovely, perfect moments in the midst of life’s chaos.
10. Tell your child that you love them on a daily basis.
Saying “I love you” is a simple but powerful method to express your limitless love for your child.
