A healthy relationship needs a lot of effort. From the honeymoon stage on, it may appear that everything is fun and games, but this is far from the fact. To make a relationship work, two individuals must put in a lot of effort, especially when we’re talking about people with short attention spans and limited patience. Not only is it critical that we tell our partners how much we love and care for them, but we also need to make them feel safe in the relationship in order for it to thrive.
When it comes to criticism, we tend to be more vocal than when it comes to compliments. That would be detrimental to any relationship, not just romantic ones. Make your lover aware of all the wonderful, pleasant, and loving feelings you have for them. It’s always good to hear these things and not have to ponder about them. Many of us have convinced ourselves that keeping our sentiments to ourselves and coping with problems on our own is the best way ahead. We do it because we’re afraid our partners will think we’re “crazy” or “too intense.”
People in a relationship should be able to talk to each other about their insecurities, how they’re feeling, and if they’re being bothered by a worrisome notion so that their spouse can assist them in clearing up any worries. Allow your partner to not be the only one who is making every effort to meet, chat, and progress. You don’t want to appear uninterested. If you’re busy, let them know and tell them you’ll get back to them as soon as possible. Small gestures can make a big difference.
