Grief is something we all have experienced or will experience at some point in life, it’s something that we can’t or avoid.

There’s no right or wrong way in which you can process someone’s death and there is nothing that can prepare you for that.

But are few ways that can help you pass through it or at the least can make it a little easier for you. You can take help and support from few things that can keep you distracted or teach you ways to do so like reading, watching something, joining some clubs or networks, or anything that brings comfort to you at such times.

Emilia Clarke, the famous British actress has been through her father’s death. It’s probably one of the worst things that can happen to someone which is sadly out of everyone’s control.

At a difficult time like that Emilia said on BBC Sounds The Book That Changed Me, that the book titled Why Didn’t You Just Do What You Were Told? written by the late essayist Jenny Diski helped her cope with the whole situation better.

The writer resonated with Emilia, she said that Diski approached death with comedy and tenderness.

She further added saying that Diski treats subjects like death with tenderness but also such comedy, and the way she writes about it makes you feel okay.

The star couldn’t get over her father’s death, Clarke said that she lost her father 4 years ago but for her, it feels like yesterday but this book by Diski was really a tonic for her soul.
