When it comes to making fun of somebody’s body, it is humiliating. Be it your spouse, or a friend or a stranger. One must never make fun of how they look or how their body is. Many times we come across couples commenting on each other’s body or lovingly giving each other nicknames, which is quite normal and cute! Yet, naming your partner ‘panda’, ‘momo’ or ‘Teddy Bear’, out of love and care could sometimes go wrong.
Naming one another out of affection is fine. But when involved in a heated argument we tend to accuse her body or make fun of her in front of your friends. It turns out to be offensive!
You never know how your jokes might hurt the feelings of your partner. The words might ruminate in your partner’s head creating more more bitterness within your relationship.
We all feel disheartened after seeing these models on social media and wish to have a body as attractive as theirs. All that body-shaming, eventually becomes a part of the relationship and might further damage the relationship! You must let your partner know how deeply affected you’ve been affected by those comments on the body, and how you’re going to have to take time to work through. You are worthy of everything in life. You deserve a relationship where you feel understood, respected, and supported without anything you’re struggling with.
