Normally proposal comes from a middle man or negotiated directly. Parents mostly consider their views when people from the boy’s side come to see the girl. And marriage is finalized when dowry and other demands are finally decided at the time of engagement. Gifts also exchanged. Though then there are pros and cons of having arranged marriage. PROS.

* It is accepted in society. Also, the entire responsibility of the marriage is undertaken by both the parents.

CONS.

* To keep prestige parents go in spending a huge amount. There are chances of a heavy financial burden.

* Also dowry system in arranged marriage may create misunderstanding and which may give rise to torture, and bride burning.

* Sometimes due to high demand girls unable to get married.

* There are chances of conflicts between families and partners.

* Last one is related to the relationship of young couples, which may become unsuccessful. It happens due to much interference of family members in a young couple’s life.
