Many people find that sitting by the shoreline or on the banks of a lake completely revives and refreshes them, almost as if their troubles have been washed away in the waves. If you’re in Mumbai and are exhausted and drained from lack of sleep and rest, we propose visiting some scenic spots where you may unwind in the natural setting. Mumbai’s lakes are surrounded by lush vegetation. On a beautiful afternoon, pack a picnic for a total spiritual revival and breathtaking images as keepsakes. Let’s take a look at some of Mumbai’s most stunning lakes.

Vihar Lake

The Vihar Lake, Mumbai’s largest lake, runs for 27 kilometers through the highly forested Sanjay Gandhi National Park. A visit to the lake in the evening, when the water may reflect the sunset, would be great. A variety of migrating birds frequent the Vihar Lake, and crocodiles can be found in a remote region. According to historians, the lake was built in 1860 by the British in response to a dispute over a lack of water in the area. This lake can be reached by bus, train, or auto-rickshaw, and specific areas of the lake require permission to enter.

Powai Lake

The Powai Lake was built in 1890 and is named after the Framaji Kavasji Powai Estate, which is located near the IIT Mumbai campus. The park is ideal for a picnic because it is surrounded by nature and tranquility. This man-made lake is thought to add a great deal of beauty to Mumbai as a whole. The Marriott Renaissance Hotel and the Hiranandani Gardens are both close to the lake. Regrettably, it must be confessed that the vegetation surrounding the lake has seen better days. The best time to visit is during the Indian monsoon season when the lake is at its most beautiful.

Tulsi Lake

The Tulsi Lake, another landmark of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, is just slightly smaller than the Vihar Lake. The park is calm, and the humming of birds can be heard in the stillness. The Tulsi Lake, like the Vihar Lake, is home to crocodiles and certain native birds, as well as being frequented by migratory birds. This is an excellent spot for taking photos and admiring nature’s incredible splendor.
