No, Lonavala and Khandala are not at the top of the list. Karnala, in contrast to the usual tourist destinations, is a hidden gem that few people are aware of. The Karnala Bird Sanctuary is home to approximately 200 species of birds, some of which are extremely rare. This sanctuary, which is spread over a small area of 12 km, is a nice place to spend your weekend away from the hustle and bustle of Mumbai.
Durshet, nestled among the humble Sahaydri range, is an ideal weekend destination with a heavenly backdrop to make your vacation truly blissful. Watch the river flow into the valley or simply take in the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. The area is well-known for its rice plantations, where you can learn a lot about rice cultivation.
Lonavala, the clichéd weekend destination for Mumbaikars, attracts a large number of visitors on a regular basis. It is at its best during the monsoon season, surrounded by lush greenery. However, it is not any less enjoyable during the other seasons.
Matheran, located in the Karjat district, is a small hill station that translates as “forest on the forehead.” While it is approximately 80 kilometers from Mumbai, it is approximately 120 kilometers from Pune. The fact that it is Asia’s only automobile free hill station adds to the beauty and serenity of the place. There is no pollution or noise, only a peaceful atmosphere and breathtaking views to enjoy.
