Paul Rudd, better known as Marvel’s ‘Ant-Man,’ is causing a stir on Twitter over something completely unrelated to his Hollywood persona: Biryani.
Yes, the star of Asma Khan’s famed London restaurant, ‘Darjeeling Express,’ was British Constitutional Law researcher-turned-celebrity restaurateur Asma Khan. So when Rudd turned up for the restaurant’s Biryani Supper Club on Sunday (his second visit to Darjeeling Express this month), Khan couldn’t believe her eyes and happily delved into the ‘dum biryani’ served in style prevalent in Khan’s original home city of Kolkata.
“Welcome back, Paul Rudd, to @Darjeelingldn!” “Today was our #BiryaniSupperclub, and I was very thrilled to serve Paul #Calcutta Dum Biryani,” Khan exclaimed on Twitter.
Darjeeling Express launched in Soho in 2017 (it has since moved to Covent Garden), with a kitchen staffed entirely by women who are not professionally qualified cooks. And she’s been used to full houses and hosting star visitors, the most frequent of which is London Mayor Sadiq Khan, since she became the only British cook to be featured in the Netflix series ‘Chef’s Table.’
