Saif Ali Khan has been around since 1993 when he made his debut with Parampara. His early years were filled with romantic movies and a particular image. But the actor broke free from the role and started venturing into other more complex roles. He is quite a successful actor! Here are some of his best performances.

Omkara

Omkara, directed by Vishal Bharadwaj is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s play Othello. Keeping aside the genius of Vishal Bharadwaj and Shakespeare, Saif Ali Khan did a wonderful job playing the role of Langda Tyagi! His twist and Bharadwaj’s twist to the antagonist role transcends just a label of ‘villain’ or ‘supporting character’. Their envisioned antagonist shocked everyone and it will always be one of his best roles.

Ek Hasina Thi

This movie was directed by Sriram Raghavan. Everyone who has watched this movie remembers the gruesome ‘chewed to death by rats’ end of the deceptive man who betrays and crosses a woman in love. Saif acted out the role with a safe yet sinister feel. So he wasn’t sure how the audience would react to the drastic power change at the end. But the response was overwhelmingly positive.

Dil Chahta Hai

This movie is an unforgettable one. Even for Saif! After working in a similar role for years, the actor was looking for a break with a different role to break that image that was solidifying. This movie changes the dynamics for him. The movie follows three close friends who get separated after college. Well, it follows their friendship and their view and how they handle relationships.

Sacred Games

Sacred Games is a Netflix show that follows a cat and mouse chase between a police officer Sartaj Singh who gets an anonymous tip and the criminal overlord Ganesh Gaitonde. The show itself has captivated quite a large audience. Saif plays the role of a police officer who is uninteresting and righteous. However, Saif Ali Khan agrees that he prefers this kind of role and it was refreshing to step back from the limelight and just work on a role.

Parineeta

The movie had a great cast with Vidya Balan and Saif Ali Khan automatically put it on the list. Saif did a great job, showing the versatility of his role and made his presence in the movie quite well.
