Rohit also says that Ajay has been a constant support system and that no one can take his place. Rohit Shetty is also called the masala maverick of the industry. With various blockbusters in line, the title suits well to the director.
Rohit and Ajay’s bromance goes back to the Golmaal days when the director tasted success after the release of Golmaal: Fun Unlimited. The film starred Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Sharman Joshi, Tusshar Kapoor, Rimi Sen and Paresh Rawal in lead roles. Apart from a series of Golmaal films, the director collaborated with Ajay in various other films like All the Best, Bol Bachchan and the much-loved Singham.
Though Rohit chose to cast Ranveer in Simmba, the strong presence of Ajay Devgn in Simmba’ itself reveals the love and respect Rohit has for Ajay.
Rohit in an interview had once said, “No one can take Ajay’s place. He’s been a great support system for me. Whatever I’m today is because of him. Other than that, I’m working with a lot of people and making new friends. Ranveer is like a younger brother. But Ajay will always be special. It’s not about the kind of performer or the star that he is, it’s not a comparison between two stars or heroes. He is like my elder brother and that can never change.”
Well whatever maybe the connection between the two, it surely shows with the kind of films that we get to see once these two are together, they literally break the box office. Ajay very well can satisfy the expectations Rohit has in his films, which is what makes them such an awesome duo.
