All You Need To Know About Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Pushpa Item Dance Number Controversy

Here is everything we know about Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s item dance number controversy. Read on for details!

The much-awaited Pan-Indian movie, Pushpa was set to release on the 17 of December. Right before the release, however, a controversy sprung up. A little before the movie’s release, the makers of the film unveiled the movie’s item song, Oo Antava, oo oo antava. This is Samantha Prabhu’s first item song, and it seems to have gone a bit wrong.

A case was filed against the dance number by a men’s association, as per a Mensxp report. The report reveals that the lawsuit was filed against the song for the lustful portrayal of men through its lyrics. The song was asked to be banned.

In the meanwhile, quite a few trolls got to typing up a storm as well. There were some people on social media too who trolled Samantha by quoting her old tweet regarding Mahesh Babu’s Nenokkadine poster where Kriti Sanon is fallen at Mahesh Babu’s feet.

One user wrote, “Samantha objected to a poster of 1 – Nenokkadine, in which the female lead Kriti Sanon is seen falling at Mahesh Babu’s feet playfully. Now, she has featured in an item dance number that has arguably regressive lyrics. This is new heights of hypocrisy.”

Another tweeted, “The way in sam speaks so highly of feminism and women power then do such songs upsets me. Such hypocrisy. #SamanthaRuthPrabhu #Pushpa.”

The Telugu sensation, Allu Arjun had a few words to say to this as well! According to a Koimoi report, the actor spoke up during a press meet in Chennai when asked about Samantha’s special dance number. He simply said, “It’s true. Whatever is written in the song is true.”

As of now, the Andhra Pradesh court has made no final ruling regarding the matter.
