Amitabh Bachchan’s sly dig at ICC for the ‘boundary rule’

Amitabh Bachchan is unstoppable even at 76. Age seems to be just a number for him as he actively participates in every world affair. The most fascinating thing about him being that despite having an extremely busy schedule, he manages time for his family, his fans on twitter and also sports.

Big B has been following the World Cup very keenly and has always been vocal about his undying support for Virat Kohli and his men. Although he did lament India’s loss against New Zealand in the ICC World Cup 2019 semi finals, he managed time out of his busy schedule to witness the epic encounter between England and New Zealand at the ‘Home Of Cricket’, the Lord’s Cricket Ground.

England and New Zealand locked horns against each other and the match can easily go down in history as one of the best World Cup Finals ever, if not the best. The match between England and New Zealand ended in a tie and went down to a super over. Surprisingly, even the super over had a tie and England eventually emerged victorious and earned the much awaited trophy because they had scored more boundaries in the World Cup than their opponents, New Zealand. Yes as shocking as it may sound, but it’s true. The move invited many digs at the ICC from well known celebrities and cricketers. But probably none beats the one by the ‘Shahenshah’ himself.

ICC seriously needs to reconsider their decision-making panel because in an event as grand as the ICC World Cup, one genuinely cannot afford to have a lackadaisical approach of this nature.
