Amrita Rao Quit Acting In Bollywood Films Because Of This Reason

Amrita Rao admits that RJ Anmol urged her to stop performing since he noticed she was turning down offers for kissing scenes.

Amrita Rao, well known for her role in Vivah, has stated that she turned down multiple film opportunities because she was uncomfortable kissing her co-stars on camera. According to the actor, RJ Anmol, who is now her husband, was able to figure out what was going on and so requested her to leave acting and marry him. She stated that his desire broke her heart, but he eventually apologized after realizing that his demand was unrealistic.

Amrita made her Bollywood debut in the 2002 film Ab Ke Baras. Sooraj Barjatya’s Vivah, which also stars Shahid Kapoor, is still her most popular film. She has also appeared in movies such as Ishq Vishk, Shaurya, Main Hoon Na, Jolly LLB, and Thackeray, which was released in 2019.

When asked if RJ Anmol had genuinely urged her to leave the film industry, Amrita told the Times of India in an interview, “That’s true. Anmol could tell I was turning down big movie roles because I wasn’t comfortable doing kissing scenes and lovemaking sequences on camera. As a result, he decided that now was the time to focus on developing a wonderful personal life and tying the marriage. He did ask me to leave my job, and I was utterly devastated. However, after a few days, he informed me that, in retrospect, his demand was ridiculous and that he was sorry.”

Amrita hadn’t released a film in a few years when she married RJ Anmol in a secret wedding ceremony in 2014. In 2020, the couple welcomed a son, which they named Veer.

The pair recently stated on their YouTube channel that they married in a covert ceremony in 2014 to avoid the wedding announcement jeopardizing her work. “I believed that if we can keep our affair a secret for 4-5 years, why can’t we hide our marriage?” Anmol stated in the video.
