The First Monday in May, also known as the 2022 Met Gala, is returning once more! The glamorous event will take place in its customary time slot this year after being postponed in 2020 and held in September last year. A-list celebrities will line the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art to celebrate the opening of the museum’s new exhibition, In America: An Anthology of Fashion, which will explore American fashion. Let’s take a look at Blake Lively and Gigi Hadid’s outfits.
Blake Lively, who served as one of the evening’s hosts, chose to work with one of her go-to red carpet brands, Atelier Versace, in a design that drew inspiration from New York City and the dress code of “Gilded Glamour.” The blue train, whose design was influenced by the constellation decorations at Grand Central station, was then revealed when the bow on the skirt was untied. She also removed her rose-colored gloves to reveal a pair that matched in color, blue, underneath. Her seven-tiered crown, which has seven rays, represented the Statue of Liberty.
Gigi Hadid wore a bodysuit with matching pointed-toe boots and a corseted bodice. Versace’s all-leather ensemble was paired by Hadid with a huge burgundy puffer coat with a train that trailed behind her, almost making the red, white, and blue carpet disappear behind her. Hadid styled her blonde hair in a sleek bun with only a few strands peeking out at the top, letting her appearance speak for itself. The mother finished the monochromatic look with a burgundy lip to match her bejeweled ruby necklace.
