Internet users are increasingly boycotting Bollywood movies. It has become harder for celebrities and movie stars to advertise their movies as the entire cancel culture has grown. Recent films like Laal Singh Chadha, starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Raksha Bandhan, starring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar, were targets of the Boycott trend on social media. Both movies had a horrible outcome at the box office and were competing with one another. A boycott even affected Ranbir Kapoor’s film Shamshera. A boycott has also been requested for the movies Pathaan, Vikram Vedha, and others starring Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan. As the days go by, the boycott tendency only intensifies. The scenario is frightening for the filmmakers and even the superstars. Many of Sushant Singh Rajput’s admirers have also actively participated in the boycott movement.
Laal Singh Chaddha, played by Aamir Khan, received a lot of backlashes online. For a long time, boycotting Laal Singh Chaddha was the largest movement. Aamir had previously responded to the same situation by claiming that many of those asking for a boycott think he is anti-national or doesn’t like India. He said that everything was false. Later, when questioned about the boycott trend once more, Aamir responded that he was powerless to stop it but wished more people might see Laal Singh Chaddha. Kareena Kapoor Khan received a lot of flak for the boycott. The actress was asked what she thought about the boycott against Laal Singh Chaddha. She said she would not want the general public to shun such a lovely movie. According to Kareena, a specific segment of the audience is the only reason for the boycott movement. She continued that a lot of people have worked on the movie for nearly three years.
Boycotting Laal Singh Chaddha, according to Bebo, would be comparable to boycotting quality movies. The Boycott trend affected Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan. The multi-film producer actor was asked what he thought of the current boycott craze. Akshay Kumar expressed his wish that people would realize how damaging it is to the environment soon. Every industry is affected, according to Akshay. He pleaded with them to refrain from making such mischief because it harms the entire nation’s economy. After expressing his views on the current boycott trend, Arjun Kapoor received criticism. The actor from Ek Villain Returns claimed that there has been excessive silence in the industry. They’re being misunderstood for weakness, he claimed, because of their decency.
