She graduated from Cluny Convent High School in Bangalore and went on to Mount Carmel College to study for a Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) (Bangalore). After finishing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, Pandit intended to be a teacher. However, during her last year of B. Com, she was convinced by a friend to apply for a part in Ashok Kashyap’s Kannada language television drama Nandagokula. Pandit got cast in the part without having to audition.
