Irina Shayk may be the epitome of a cool mother. As she sends her daughter Lea (whom she shares with ex Bradley Cooper) off at school or conducts errands in New York City, Shayk, 36, never misses a beautiful street style opportunity. The Russian model has appeared on the runways of all the major fashion weeks and is a favourite of designers such as Donatella Versace and Riccardo Tisci of Burberry. Shayk is the fearless style hero we all deserve off the runway, wearing anything from leather-clad Bottega Veneta combat boots to Chrome Hearts denim and unexpected flashes of zebra print.

Few looks are as well-known as the model’s off-duty ensemble. For new faces going to castings, skinny jeans, leather jackets, and DDrMartens are wardrobe must-haves, but what happens when you’re a supermodel? Irina Shayk wore a flirtatious yellow Reformation dress in Manhattan yesterday to put her opin on the notion. The mustard coloured mini, which retailed for $78, was an affordable option that added a pop of colour to Shayk’s essentials, especially when coupled with a similar mini-bag from her collaboration with The Kooples.

Shayk and her stylist, Marc Eram, have a history of defying trends. Her Reformation costume is comparably low key after using Burberry’s vintage check for a playdate and marching around the Milan menswear shows in head-to-toe Versace. Nonetheless, the mix of a whimsical skirt, a Chrome Hearts leather jacket with grommets, and a nano purse seemed invigorating.
