Article 370 has been an article of the Indian Constitution that gave a special status to the people of Jammu & Kashmir. The article, along with Article 35A of the Indian Constitution, meant that the people of J&K have special rights with respect to citizenship, ownership of properties and many other things. In short, it meant rules within rules. Article 370 prohibited Indians to purchase land in Jammu and Kashmir. However, all that is said and done, and is history.
Here’s hoping that the new law that has been enforced comes off well and is helpful for both the people of India as well as those who used to come under the boundaries of Article 370 and 35A.
