Kristin Davis is enraged by all the remarks and casual ageism about her role in HBO’s And Just Like That…, a Sex and the City reboot that premiered on HBO Max on December 9. The actor, who plays Charlotte York on the popular comedy series, reacted to the incessant conversation about her and her co stars’ appearances in an interview with London’s Sunday Times 17 years after the series’ initial run ended.

“Whether they like it or not, everyone wants to comment on our hair, appearance, and this and that,” Davis continued. “I was surprised at how intense it was… I’m upset, and I don’t want to be irritated all the time, so I don’t look at it.” “I have a feeling it’s there,” says the narrator.

Davis also discussed how comments about her appearance disturbed her during the original run of Sex and the City in the late 1990s and early 2000s, in an interview with The Sunday Times. “Every week, they’d publish pieces about how ‘pear-shaped’ I was, which I didn’t think was a praise at the time,” Davis added.

“It would give me a lot of stress because I couldn’t escape it.” That’s how it feels to me right now, too. But I also feel like—I’m going to be blunt—’Fuck you.’ Come over here and do it better,’ says the narrator. Do you get what I’m saying? “What exactly are you doing?” Davis blamed the uptick in negative comments about her and her co-stars on social media.
