The glitz and glamour of the stunts in action movies always hold some kind of story behind them. A lot of stars don’t do their own stunts for various reasons. They generally hire a stunt double. But there are still quite a few artists who still do their stunts. Akshay Kumar got into the industry with his stunning stunts and action scenes. He has gone through some nightmarish stunts before. Here are his top 5 dangerous stunts that Akshay Kumar had to perform.
1) Jumping into a ring on fire Singh is Bling (2015)
In the 2015 movie, Singh is Bling, the actor did a risky move of jumping into a ring of fire. And while the actor crazily does the stunt on his own, he left from home with a burned leg according to a Men’s XP report. He recovered soon thankfully and soon resumed filming.
2) Standing on a plane for Khiladi 420 (2000):
The epic scene from Khiladi 420, where Akshay stands on an airplane was done by the actor himself. The scene required him to get on the plane, stand on it for a while before jumping onto a hot air balloon. The actor did it in one take with only safety cords as support. According to a Men’s XP report, the actor has said, “I had to catch this running plane and climb it. People are scared of sitting inside a plane, and like a stupid man, I am standing on top of a plane. And then I’m supposed to jump from that plane, after it is a thousand feet up in the air, onto a hot air balloon. I did it in one shot.”
3) Jumping from Cliff with 160 feet drop for 8*10 Tasveer (2009):
The actor had a scene where he had to jump off a cliff with a drop of 160 feet. He did a couple of tries with a double before he did the jump. Every one of the set was left shocked nonetheless.
4) Jumping off of Elevators for Singh is Kinng (2008)
In Singh is Kinng there is a scene where the actor is supposed to jump off of elevators. According to a Mensxp report, the actor did this stunt at a height of 110 feet without any safety nets or harness.
5) Swimming with Sharks for Blue (2009):
The movie Blue had some stunning visuals be it the sizzling song Chiggi Wiggie or the beautiful vast blue oceans. The actor was pumped to do his scene where he was required to swim with sharks. A MensXp report states that while nothing happened with the sharks, the actor did hurt his head a bit when he bumped his head at the shipwreck.
