Dia Mirza recently opened up about her wish to have some of her German Father’s possessions, which eventually went to her stepbrother. The actress spoke about her biological father, Frank Handrich, who’s a German artist, who died 9 years ago.

Dia’s mother Deepa is a Bengali interior designer who got separated from Frank when the RHTDM actress was just 5 years old. Later she married Ahmed Mirza from Hyderabad, as stated in Hindustan Times.

Dia Mirza opened up on wishing to get some of her German Father’s possessions to Harper’s Bazaar, saying, “All his belongings went to my step-brother who was born after he left. Some years ago, my step-brother came to Bombay to visit my mum and me, and I was showing him around the house. He walked into the corridor where I have lots of photographs, and there is one of me as a baby with my parents. In that moment, all the years of pain and baggage I was carrying, about wanting my father’s things, disappeared… I realised what I had was even more precious, which is my memories of him.”
