Will Smith a popular and well-known face in the world, once boycotted or rather didn’t choose to attend The Grammy Awards back in 1989, despite being nominated along with his fellow partner Dj Jazzy Jeff.
The duo was nominated at the 31st Grammy Award in the Best Rap Performance category for the Parents Just Don’t Understand number, as stated in Republic world. However, reportedly the two didn’t attend the show.
This is after they came to know that the new category of best rap award will not be aired on television. Later, Smith said that they didn’t have any problem with the institution but with the design of the award shows in 1989.
