Prachi Desai is one of the most talented and hardworking actresses that we have had in the Hindi entertainment industry. Her breakthrough show came in the form of Kasamh Se where her character of Bani was much appreciated and from there onwards, she made a successful transition from TV to movies and projects like Bol Bachchan, Ek Villain, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, Azhar, Rock On, Rock On 2 & others helped her cement her place in the industry.
However, she’s been away from action for a fairly long time and finally, her fans are super excited to see her as Inspector Sanjana in the upcoming ZEE5 show Silence: Can You Hear It. When Prachi was exclusively asked as to why she was missing from action for such a long time, she was quoted saying,
“Well, for a fairly long time, I wasn’t getting what I wanted. I don’t know why and how much but either the same type of roles were being offered and the ones which would genuinely interest me later didn’t come to me anymore maybe because I had refused something similar earlier. In our industry, it is important to say no as your decisions matter a lot. With Inspector Sanjana, I was very happy because it’s a role of a female cop and it’s not just about all bang bang and action but also shows the humane side of the police officer. Add to that, when you get to work with people like Manoj Bajpayee, it’s a cherry on top.”
When Prachi was further asked if saying no to a particular director or producer for any role hurt her chances in the long run in bagging good roles, she further added,
“Well, I am not really aware if that was a reason why not many offers came my way. I would like to believe that’s not the case hopefully. But since I don’t know the real thing, I would not overthink much on it and rather focus on the present. I don’t have any regrets about my career. ”
