Actress and model Lily Jane Collins is both American and British. Collins, who was reared in Los Angeles after being born in Guildford, Surrey, had her movie debut at the age of two in the BBC series Growing Pains.
Collins started acting and modeling more frequently in the late 2000s. Her role in the sports drama The Blind Side, the third-highest-grossing movie of 2009, marked a turning point in her career.

Lily Collins’ Career
At age two, she appeared on screen for the first time in the BBC television series Growing Pains. As a young actress at the Youth Academy for Dramatic Arts, Collins’ primary passion was journalism. She attended USC, where she majored in broadcast journalism after graduating from the Harvard-Westlake School.
In her teens, she started penning a column called “NY Confidential” for the British publication Elle Girl. She also contributed to the Los Angeles Times, Seventeen, and Teen Vogue.
Emily in Paris, a Netflix television series about a young American working in Paris, and Inheritance, a thriller directed by Vaughn Stein, both cast Collins opposite Simon Pegg in 2020. Collins received a second Golden Globe nomination for Emily in Paris in the Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy category.
She played Rita Alexander, an English transcriber for author Herman J. Mankiewicz, in the critically acclaimed movie Mank that same year. Both The Cradle, directed by Hope Dickinson Leach, starring Collins against Jack O’Connell, and Gilded Rage, produced by Jake Gyllenhaal and directed by Charlie McDowell, starring Collins opposite Christoph Waltz and Bill Skarsgard, are slated for release.
