Casablanca has chosen to celebrate creative director Charaf Tajer’s birthplace, Paris, with its Fall/Winter 2022 collection. The “Le Monde Diplomatique” capsule includes satin quilted outerwear and aeronautical prints in French colors. Hand-embroidered features like beading, crystals, and sequins adorn twin sets, knitwear, and garments elsewhere. Blue and gold envelope elements, which include intarsia knits and wool capes, pay homage to the romanticism of luxurious Parisian hotels. The swan motif backless dress, laced with delicate featherwork, and the cropped tritone down jacket are standouts, paired with Pierre Jeanneret-inspired accessories and French café chairs. The brand’s trademark monogram can be found on a variety of items.
The Atlantis collection also recalls the launch of the brand’s first shoe. The iconic silhouette is encircled by ocean-inspired lines, extending the bond between architecture and nature. All of this culminates in a film starring Emma Mackey from Sex Education that shows the architectural language of the French capital through famous buildings such as the Le Train Bleu restaurant and the Le Bourget airport.
