Emma Watson donned a lot of wizard robes as Hermione Granger in Harry Potter. For her part as Belle in Disney’s upcoming live-action feature Beauty and the Beast, the actress wore enhanced versions of the character’s trademark blue gown and swoon-worthy ball gown. Today, the actress channeled some of that cinematic magic in her new look.
Emma Watson hadn’t walked a red carpet in a long time, but when she did, her admirers were overjoyed. That’s because you can always count on her to flaunt a big and bright dress, whether it’s a pantsuit set or a princess-inspired gown. Take a look at the star’s New York City appearance for proof. On Thursday, September 15, Watson donned an Alexander McQueen transparent lace gown at the Kering Foundation’s first Caring for Women gala. Although the outfit appears to be romantic at first sight, it has a sartorial edge, as one would expect from the punk London-based design business.
The aforementioned designer gown was sleeveless and backless, with a short train, as well as a number of cutouts on the bodice and an asymmetrical hem. It consisted of flowery guipure lace, which gave dimension to her ensemble and a smoldering peek-a-boo appearance. Watson collaborated with red carpet stylist Law Roach, who paired her outfit with an Alexander McQueen bag: a black Four Ring clutch with spikes. The actress wore a pair of black hefty platform heels with black buckle accents. She completed her look with a hodgepodge of Pomellato gems, which included a pair of modest drop earrings, a ring, and two delicate bracelets on her wrist.
The philanthropic event Watson attended was held by journalist Anderson Cooper to collect cash for three groups that assist victims of gender-based violence. A-listers including Salma Hayek, Karlie Kloss, and Jodie Turner-Smith were also in attendance. Christy Turlington, a ’90s supermodel, also chose a lace dress with modest side cutouts as her OOTD for the evening. Her dark-colored gown was adorned with lacy frills on the breast and around the neck.
